About FARG
FARG is the Fund for Support and Assistance to the neediest survivors of the Genocide against Tutsi committed between 01 October 1990 and 31 December 1994 as determined by the law establishing FARG, law no 81/2013 of 11/09/2013. And is assigned to promote the social welfare of the neediest survivors of the genocide against Tutsi as well as to fully integrate all genocide survivors in social development and national development programs.
Mission & Vision and Objective
- The mission of FARG is to promote the social welfare of the neediest survivors of the Genocide against the Tutsi.
Vision: All genocide survivors are fully integrated in social development program (VUP, MUSA, Girinka and UBUDEHE) and participate in national development programs.
- Objective: To have vulnerable genocide survivors integrated into existing national programs for self-development and progressively phase out some programs of FARG (Shelter, education and income generating activities) through skills development, promotion of income generating activities and entrepreneurship.
Achievements
From 1998 up to 2015, a lot has been achieved most especially in education program where by 97,677 students have completed secondary school whereas 12,524 students have completed higher learning schools, in health at least each financial year, 24,339 beneficiaries have been assisted under medical care, 21,599 beneficiaries including 1560 who were left childless during the Genocide against the Tutsi(Incike), 43,146 houses have been constructed under shelter program and 46,551 beneficiaries have been assisted under income generating activities (IGA) while 5,000 beneficiaries have been assisted under Girinka project. The budget spent from 1998 up to 2014-2015 on these program talked above are 190,374,795,158Frw.
